R.I.P. Dick Clark

Yet again, we say farewell to a celebrity, this time, a Mr Dick Clark, famous for shows like Pyramid and American Bandstand, where he met stars like Buddy Holly, Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Here, I have the sad duty of reporting the death of ‘America’s oldest teenager’, and writing a small piece about his life and legacy.

I knew, and still only know, very little about Dick Clark. I know he was an American TV star and that he starred on the above shows, but until today, I didn’t know what he looked or sounded like. Personally, I’m disappointed that such a star as him could have slipped through my net of knowledge and remained in a shadow of obscurity. Alas, c’est la vie.

Dick Clark. You may be missed by those that knew you and knew of you, but you will be revered by those that tread in your footsteps, trying to take up the position, of one of the best known American TV personalities, that you earned.
