R.I.P Ray Harryhausen

Once again the time has come to bid a very fond farewell to a titan of cinema, Ray Harryhausen. Harryhausen was THE special effects guy, working on films such as Clash of the Titans, Jason and the Argonauts and the Sinbad films (remember that scene with the sword fighting skeletons? Yeah, that was Harryhausen) Without him, there would probably be no Star Wars, no Wallace and Gromit and no Chicken Run. Harryhausen changed friggen everything in terms of special effects, his stop-motion pretty much bridges the gap between puppets and CGI. His work still looks pretty friggen awesome today and we know that that’s how Ray would want us to remember him, as a man who helped bring the spectacular visions of directors to life and whose work will continue to inspire hundreds of other people to embrace their creativity and anyone who can do that is good in my book. We here offer our condolences to the Harryhausen family in this difficult time.
