Fleetwood Mac – Dreams

And we round off our Artist Focus week on Fleetwood Mac with their number one song on Spotify – Dreams.

With fewer listens that Go Your Own Way. Weird.

Yet another break-up sort of song, and one that I’m not all that fond of, really. It’s just a bit too whiney, for me. It’s not even that whiney, it’s just a bit too much so. Have a watch.

Or perhaps a listen…

It just comes across as a sad, upset, it’s all over, isn’t that sad, kind of song. Even the drums sound sad – how do drums ever sound sad?!? Just look at these lyrics…

But listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
And what you lost, and what you had, and what you lost

It’s so depressing. I wouldn’t even put this on a “you’re too happy, sit your ass down and cry” playlist. How anyone can sit through this and enjoy themselves, amazes me – and if I’m completely honest, I’m calling that an end to the review because I can’t be arsed with listening to it any more.
