Touch, one of the most useful senses that we mere humans experience and utilise for our actions, both benevolent and heinous. Also, the title of today’s entry to our Artist Focus series as we hit the half-way mark for Little Mix.
Now, I actually heard this one before writing this review – who hasn’t heard that chorus line…
Just a touch of your love is enough
To knock me off of my feet all week
Now, that doesn’t mean I like it, it just means that I’ve heard it before. I actually find this to be one of the more bearable songs of theirs, despite the heavy synthetic sound during the chorus and the pointless harmonising around the minute-thirty mark.
No, it’s because it’s got relatable lyrics – it’s about loving someone so much that just experiencing a small part of them is enough to make your week, to make you weak at the knees, to make your quiver with the anticipation of their affection. We’ve all been there, and if you haven’t, well… You will.
It’s also got a bit of a beat to it, it’s definitely something I could see myself dancing with the little one to, even if I’m only doing it ironically because it’s not the kind of song I’d normally enjoy dancing to. Hang on, what’s that Doc?
So, all in all, it’s not a terrible song, it’s just not a great one, not to me.
