Welcome to a surprise addition to Little Mix week! Here’s a review of Only You, apparently released within the last month. Who knew? Who could have foreseen? What do I think?!?

I’m going to keep this one short – mostly because I’m tired, but also because I prefer Shout Out To My Ex, as a song. What can I say? I’m a sucker for funny songs. Only You, sadly, is not a funny song. It doesn’t even feel like a fun song.
It’s about someone being broken, needing that one person who can fix them, and I’ll be honest, it feels like the song is broken. The lyrics sound half-thought out, the beat is lacking any worthwhile substance, the male-female overlap is disproportionately leaning towards the male voice, in my opinion and I think the rest of the music is the kind of thing I could throw together in about half an hour if I wanted to. This doesn’t feel like a “biggest girl group in the world” kind of song, to me. It’s feel like a cheap attempt at getting a song out there because they can’t be inactive.
But what do I know, I’m just the guy whose opinion you valued enough to read this review to the end.
