I’ve always sort of wanted to try a Scotch Bonnet. Probably regret it, though.
We’re instantly treated to some stunning guitar work, the drum briefly joins in and then, wham, the lyrics start and they’re as complicated and fluid as you’d expect. It’s the sort of lyric that if you don’t know it inside out, back to front and upside down – blindfolded – you’ll stumble over, and yet they pull it off fantastically. For me, it’s this line that does it best :
Step from the road to the sea to the sky
Which in itself is not all that complicated to say, but try to sing it, and all of a sudden it sounds amazing.
We get a few great drum buildups too, which is something great to look forward to throughout the song. I love good drum work, regular readers will know, and I love buildups, as some other regular readers will know. It’s what you want, it’s what I want, it’s what I love. So thank God there’s some here. I love it. I absolutely love it.
