Right then. I’m on record as being one of the few people on this God-forsaken planet that doesn’t go hoop-la over the movie Home Alone (1990), and instead, takes issue with it. Here’s a number of reasons why.
Good day to you all! It may (or may not) be a surprise to hear that very recently, a new film set within the universe of Harry Potter has been released, and it’s certainly made an impact here – tonnes of you are reading Benny’s article discussing which Dumbledore was better, and rightly so because it’s great. But it got me thinking. Who else can we discuss in a similar fashion? I reveal to you all, my ranking of the Defence Against The Dark Arts teachers!
Hello, one and all. Today, I’m going to discuss music, in particular, how music is made up in terms of the underlying theme of the song in question. We’re going to exclude classical music and instrumentals, purely because the meaning behind the music is contextual and not at all guided by the official lyrics.
Today marks a momentous occasion. Well, it should do, if nothing has changed between the time of this being written and the date it’s been scheduled for. Today should be the day that Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un meet. It should be a fantastic event because it’ll do one of two things – either go fantastically well and we’ll be a step closer towards proper peace on the peninsula, or it’ll show one or both of them for the people they really are. Rejoice!
To celebrate this glorious day, let’s look at a Korean export, shall we? K-Pop.
Soaps tend to be right at the bottom of the TV drama shaped barrel. Despite the fact that millions of people watch them almost everyday and many have been airing for decades, there is still a lot of snobbery when it comes to considering the quality of soaps. I should probably elaborate on exactly what shows I’m talking about here. Originally, the ‘big three’ were considered to be Emmerdale (1972-present), Coronation Street (1960-present) and Eastenders (1985-present) but in recent years Hollyoaks (1995-present) and Doctors (2000-present) have joined the fray. All of these shows have received criticism from many for being overrated, poorly acted and using overthetop plots that never occur in real life. This criticism is unjust, I’m not an avid soap watcher but I know enough to say that soaps are actually really important and well made.
Benny suggested I watched this rather old documentary and the title pretty much sums it up perfectly. What follows are my thoughts on the whole thing.
Right then. For those of you who do not know, I, That Guy, live in the UK, I do not follow sport, and I know very little about the rule of sports other than football (or soccer, if you will), golf, tennis and badminton. I sort of understand rugby too, but I’m a little fuzzy on the complete rules. Maybe I know more about sport than I think.
Point is, I know NOTHING about American Football, either NFL or otherwise. I don’t even know if there is anything other than the NFL. I don’t know who’s good at it, who’s bad at it, or even how anyone would know either of those things. I do, however, know that I’m watching the match tonight, and once I’ve seen it, I’ll write-up what I think of it. Cheerleaders and all…
